Per the statement below by Andrejus Chaliapinas, from this previous discussion, http://www.openntf.org/internal/home.nsf/response.xsp?action=openDocument&documentId=7888655D70FDDD6186257930002E1D3F&MainID=D861DE698262EDDA86257930002AEE52, global JDBC connections will be introduced later.

Statement

Currently we support per NSF Application JDBC configured connections, whose definition lies inside special file with .jdbc extension. Global JDBC connections per server and additional DDE tooling support will be introduced later.

Has this actually been introduced yet?
