• select database and more doesn't work in Excel to Notes

    Hi

    I am trying out DMA to import an excel sheet with names into a adress book.

    When I open an existing or create a new upload config the only options available is select filename and entering description.

    I have by restarting Notes 8.51FP1 had the rest of the functionality back and I got to make a new upload config, but functionality is gone again and I get a error when trying to run the upload config (CoerStrToNum string found double expected) when trying to run upload in analysis mode.

      I ended up to same kind of problems when trying to use local copy of Dma.

      User must have [Admin] role to fully edit upload configs and if you are using local copy, roles are not

      available.

        Hi Lars,



        You need the [Admin] role. Without it you can only select the filename to upload.



        I don't know about this error you mentioned - "CoerStrToNum string found double expected" when trying to run upload in analysis mode. Once you have the database on a server and the have the [Admin] role, please let me know how it goes.



        Also - there is a nasty bug with version 2.0 that if you select the Key Defintion as "Use Column" it does not work. This is found on tab 2 Document Selection. Version 2.1 will be out in less than two weeks or just use version 1.2.

          I'll wait with trying this until 2.1 is out, but I do see this as a limitation (that DMF cant be used on a local Notes installation) but need to be installed on a domino server. Is there no way around this? Since I'm only using local databases and not always are connected to Domino server this is a bit annoying.

            I managed to get to "admin uploads" by removing Form Formula from "Excel to Notes"-views. You need to

            have designer access to database to edit views.

            There might be some less radical way to do it but that did the trick for me :)

              This has all been fixed in 2.1. I can run DMA from my local data directory without the permissions problems and no error messages.
