conaex is a highly efficient database administration tool developed by conis Informationssysteme GmbH, Berlin, Germany, in order to simplify the analysis and manipulation of database settings, access control lists and design elements.
Its most striking features are:
• Scan of about 100 different database settings – visible and hidden
• Modification of most of these settings
• Aggregated overview of databases’ storage consumption
• Overview of replicas and their distribution
• Vast information on agents and other design elements
• Efficient handling of Access Control Lists, e.g. by using ACL templates
• Aggregated change requests for multiple databases and directories
• Transparent documentation of all database modifications
• Execution of change requests only after their explicit release
• Easy, persistent parametrization of all conaex activity by means of task documents (no console hacking)
• Flexible, transparent scheduling of tasks
• Low administration effort re-using task documents
• High performant, OS specific server task program based on the Lotus Domino C API
• Optimal modularization of the conaex activity in distributed domains
• High adaptability to the server infrastructure by offering to scan an unlimited number of target servers from one or more “conaex server(s)“
• Three-level access control model
• Multi-lingual user interface
conaex was first released in January 2006. Along with release 1.3.4, most of its modules were bundled und published as the "conaex Administration Platform" (= this project) under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
