• using 1.6, will it function the same on 6.0.3 and 6.5.4 server?

    Hello,

I'm testing the 1.6 OpenNtf Mail Experience template. It looks like we are going to go forward to with a rollout here.

We have a mixed server environment. Some servers are 6.0.3 and some are 6.5.4 - we are upgrading as time and resources permit.

I'm re-writing the documentation I found here on using v1.2 - to update it with v1.6 screenshots and and verbiage (if any of the verbiage changes). I'll post the document here when it's finished so others can use it.

I would like to save myself a lot of potential frustration by asking the community. Will this template function exactly the same on a 6.0.3 server as it will on a 6.5.3 or 6.5.4 server?

The reason I am asking is that I found a post in this dicussion forum that stated that v1.2 behaved a little differently betweeen 6.0.x and 6.5.x. I believe it had to do with folders appearing differently.

    Thanks.

…. use OpenNTF Mail Template instead. That will allow the users to see the forward/reply icons like we have in 6.5

        Vince,

Thanks for your response. Here's my setup.

        6.5.4 Client

        6.0.3 Server

        OpenNTF.org Mail Experience Template v1.6

We replaced the design of a mailbox that was based on the default 6.5.2 mail template.

Everything seems to be working as advertised. I see the forward and reply icons, which appear in a column between the who and date column.

I'm just wondering if there is anything that does not work properly or works differently because we are using the 6.0.3 server. We plan to upgrade all of our servers to 6.5.4 (or higher), but our resources and project time are so limited that it may be middle of Q4 before we can get that done.

Overall though, testing has gone very well and we will be rolling the template out to approximately 800 people soon.

        • Not sure...

.. the client version is the most important, so if that is 6.5 it may work.
