• Folder moving

Stig, thanks for the tool, well done and polished, much appreciated.

Is it possible to have a selection of only a folder with all documents therein and subfolder and their documents?

Basically, user has thousands of messages in a few folders that need to be kept, no others. Would like to select Folders in the source, then move all docs in that folder across to another mail database.

    • Should be doable...

Yes, it should be possible to extract out a single folder or a selection of folders. The main set would normally still move the main contents (if selected) like the SENT view and ALL documents.

As long as it would be only the folder presentation/transfer it is fairly straight forward.

But if it's 'wrong' my assumptions here, please post a response…

      • Folder and contained documents required

Stig, first thanks. (in my use of Mail Merger the last 6 months your rapid and "professional" support continues to impress and challenge me). A true benevole, salutations.

I present this request from a UI perspective. The following would really help me:

        • Radio button "Transfer only selected folder" then all non relevant options disappear. (I know you would do this anyway)
        • Button to select folder appears. I then select folder or folders if possible.
        • Tick box to include subdirectories of selected folder

(The above options will by default only transfer the folder structure.)
        • Tick box to include all documents in selected folder(s)
        • The orphaned documents transferred too are important. I am coming across these in every second database used and transfer them manually after (I cannot use the auto delete after successful completion feature - which would be a real time gain for the archive db duplication problems)

My own attempts to date for folder transfer:

Searching for scripts (I have no script programming skills) to do this have been a loss of many hours so far.

Yes, for the folders that will be along those lines.

For orphaned documents it will have to do an additional scan to make sure it don't get 'doubled' and that all orphaned docs are being transferred if/when requested, so it will get some performance influence (1 scan compared to 2 scans)

Also be aware that my schedule are a bit tight these days, so for the first 2-3 weeks it will be a bit difficult to comply, but I will look into it as soon as I can get head above water (Sorry)…
