OpenNTF Mail Template - Feature Request: Smart folders - configure an action that happens when you move an email into a folder.

email is very much an individual tool, but with some clever design it could dub as team tool as well. So here the idea: The addtofolder event calls a standard routine. This routine determines from an configuration setting what should happen. It is a little bit like Quick-Forward but more sophisticated. E.g. a message could be copied into a different database. Before copying it there a defined (sub)form from the database would be loaded and the user would fill it in. This would be the universal interface for CRM / Archive or Workflow systems.

A dialog could look like this:

This could be an interface to the openNTF Project management as well....

The configuration should have this features:
1) Icon for the folder (needs programatic manipulation of the outline)

2) Action to be performed:
- Copy to db: filename/replicaid for db (pick from list interface), form 2 load (with picklist interface(?), agent to call (?)
- add sender to a mailing list
- block emails from this sender (dangerous?)
- Convert into: calender, 2do, any other form in the mail db (Phone memo?)
- more ideas to come...

3) What should happen to the document: Keep, Keep but strip attachments (and optional replace with doclink to central db), delete

4) more?

You can use the rich text editor for rich text formating. You can also enter HTML to embed objects, e.g. to embed a YouTube video or a screenshot of the project. In this case use '[' and ']' to mark the passthrough HTML as such.

Please note that the first time you use the new UI your description is converted from rich text to MIME. You might want to copy and paste the raw plain text from the old UI in the new UI so that you don't loose information.
