• Interface to Ceridian HR

    I am about to start a vacation request database (fully web-enabled). Our company has flexible vacation and sick leave policies, so that if allotted vacation or sick leave is not taken, the employee gets paid for the time not taken. This is done in the Ceridian HR payroll system. Only a few employees have access to the payroll system, and all employees must have a supervisor approve a vacation or ESL request.



    Here's what I am going to do. The out-sourced Ceridian employee data will be downloaded once per day to an internal SQL server. From this server, LEI will be used to populate a Notes db with balances (vacation allowed, taken, etc). Using Lotus Workflow, any request is routed through to the appropriate managers, and HR personnel (for berevement, jury and military duty etc) and then a transaction is created for posting back to Ceridian. This is for a 1200 person organization with serveral bargaining/non-bargaining units. There may be about five different holiday schedules.
