• how is this different from statrep and collector task?

By symetrik design 2 decades ago

    Hello,

I'm curious how this might be different from running the collector task on one of my servers, and events on all of my servers, and setup the collector to log certain events that I specify in events4.nsf to statrep.nsf on the collector server?

    Am I missing something?

Looking forward to learning more about this project.

Also, can any corrective action be taken when a message in the log is found?

For example, if a database is found to be corrupt, can the fixup task be triggered to fixup the corrupt database?

You seem to be looking at database issues or server problems, but OpenLog is designed to tell you that a particular line of a particular subroutine in a particular agent has given this specific error, and provide a ton of detail around the environment in which the error occurred. It's a tool used by application developers, to trap potential errors in their applications.
