• Problem with outgoing attachments via SMTP

By Wolfgang Kirsch 2 decades ago

    Dear Hans-Georg Franke,

I try tu run mailscan on a domino 7.0/ suse linux and the free versions of bitdefender/ff-prot.

    Mailscan-version is 1.0b

The sysems works fine scanning incoming mails over SMTP and NRPC.

While scanning outgoing mails which are routed over NRPC works as desired, I have the strange effect that mails with attachments are truncated by sending with SMTP.

Sometimes the attachement is placed at the end of mail with just some lines of text (the complette attachement is not shown, looks like: +++Virenfrei gescannt mit F-Prot+++

–=lternative 004AD7F7C1257101_=) and sometimes there is a large text-area placed at the end of the mail.

There are no log-entrys, thus I set debug-level to 3, and there is only one common mail.box on the domino-system.

I tried to change the anti-virus-scanner, but this does not have any impact.

    Do you have any ideas?

    regards

      Hi,

which program do you use to send emails via smtp (i always test outlook express)?

there is no mailscan.log-file in your domino-data-directory, probably with uppercase letters?

Can you post your ini-settings (only mailscan relevant)?

Can you send me an defect email as notes-document?

The same document without running mailscan?`

email hansgeorgfranke @ yahoo dot de
