• Help: To-Do forms and views

By Alberto Molina 2 decades ago

    Hello there,

I am an unexperienced Domino administrator, and all of our users come from using Outlook 2007. I have installed the Mail Experince template, and so far has helped us to solve some issues (different signatures for different personalities, for example).

But I have found something beyond my capabilities—a very important user relies heavily on Outlook Tasks, and he needs to group them by due date and the sort by priority and estimated completion time. My problems are:

    1. I do not know how to add the estimated completion time field. I have been having a look at the template in Design and found a field called Duration, but I do not know if this field is the correct one, nor how to add it to the forms and views (I have been messing around without getting anywhere with it).

    2. I have been able to group by due date one of the existing views, but I would like to create a new different one and leave the originals as they are. I have created the view, but then I am not able to make it appear in the left panel, alongside the other To-Do views.

Any advice on how to proceed would be really apreciated, as I do not have the time now to learn to program using Notes/Domino, and we cannot go on with Notes as a client until this problems are solved.

Many thanks for the good work and best regards,

      Alberto

      .. can't they use that?

It is not a good idea to change mailtemplates if you are not a very experienced Notes Developer, so please try to have the users use the built-in functionality as much as possible.
