• new feature on offer

By Mike VandeVelde 2 decades ago

Hi everybody. I have a domBulletin set up, check it out: http://www.healthspace.ca/Staff/MikeV/TestdomBulletin.nsf

I've added a "Show X" listbox at the bottom, try it out. I really had to mangle the design of the page to get it to work. I need to add my own script, and it needed to include computed text. So I just copied the results you get out of _doSkin right onto the view template, and added my reload function (and changed the content type of the form to html). I managed to just get it working so I thought I'd show it off, who know what else I broke in the process (like the fw & back buttons?). It's brittle, I could pretty it up, but I wonder how you could add computed JavaScript when the header is generated by JavaScript? Maybe if I was just better at JavaScript :-(

Anyone think this kind of feature is worth adding? I think I'd need a lot of help to do it properly, the design seems very foreign to me. I'm interested in getting involved with the project though, so I'm willing to spend the time. That's unless I should just make it a feature request if one of you guys wants to just do it yourselves.

      Great Idea/addition/suggestion!

I think you a correct in assuming this feature would need to be intergrated into the javascript libraries. I wonder if it might be a good option to have in the preferences though. I love the "uncluttered" look of domBulliten (as compared to some of the other php based bbs systems out there) and it would be great

to keep the thread/category views as visually appealing as possible.
