• Installed but not working

By Mark du Plessis 2 decades ago

This is the 1st time I have installed kSpam. I installed ver 1.7a. Its on a Win server 2003 machine with Domino 6.0. I followed the setup instructions, and I have created a config document and created a couple of rules. But upon testing the mails simply still come through. What am I missing? Please help!

    • same problem?

      Hi there

I've also set up kSpam on a W2K D7.02 machine.

I've set the 'off'-rule as documented in the example and saved the config with the default values:

All new mails are now marked with KS_ALLOW_REASON and KS_IID.

I've sent 2 mails from an external account:

One without subject and one with the subject 'test with off'

Both are comming through: The empty subject will be marked in KS_ALLOW_REASON with "Subject null or not present", but the reason field in the 'off' mail other is just empty…

Also no mails appear in the mailgood or mailspam dbs (I've created and added the group 'kSpamAdministrators' as seen in other topics)

Another question: I've kept hundrets of spam messages. Can I copy them to the mailspam.nsf to fasten the process?

      Thanks for your support!

      • it works :-)

        here's what i did:

I've copied about 500 Spam mails into the mailspam.nsf and about the same amount from my mailfile into mailgood.nsf

        Then I've changed the config:

        General - Default Action: 2

Bayesian - Bayesian filter enabled: 'yes'

        Bayesian - Bayesian action: '3'

Then I've restarted the server twice

        Some more questions:

        • If somebody could share the rule-database, that would be cool! Could you please post it here?
        • I still do not understand completly all the settings. Is there somewhere further help?
        • I've found another copy of spammail.nsf (quarantine-version with web-enablement) in this forum. Why isn't it part of the official distribution? Are there new versions?

(btw my "% off" - rule still doesn't work, but I'm quite happy with the momentary result)
