In Declans slides ( screen shot => http://focul.bucket1.s3.amazonaws.com/public_downloads/sean/dec.png ) new clones/ branches(?) are created from the package explorer.

With eGIT this option is not available.

If a new developer starts and wants to work on their own branch what is the best practice for doing  that ?
