Control not working in Client app

When this control is added into my custom app on our Domino server, opening in the XPage in an external browser works great. When the same XPage is opened from within the client application, the XPage fails to load at all, giving me a generic error message.
Is there something I can do to enable this control to work when the XPage is loaded inside of the client?
