• Version of Notes?

By John Seto 2 decades ago

    Hi Christian,

Your Picture database looks good, but I was wondering what version of Notes/Domino 6.x are you using for the development. At the moment the database I have downloaded seems to be crashing my 6.0.1 server big time! I have tried resigning all objects and also I have created a new template from the examaple database you have posted.

      Hi John,

most of the time I am developing with a Lotus Client 6.0.2CF1. Some times I use my Lotus Notes Client which I have installed at the office which is Version 6.5.

Are you experiencing the same problems with BlogSphere? As you may know most of the design elements are based on that project and the server based agents are 100% the same.

When does the crash occur? When one of the agents is scheduled to run or when clicking on a specific link?

What is Lotus Support saying to the crashes? I assume you sent them your NSD files? (Contacting Lotus Support is for free if you have IBM Passport Advantage software licenses)

      regards,

      Christian

  • Still crashing

By John Seto 2 decades ago

    Hi Christian,

I have installed the latest version of Blogsphere and that seems to be working ok.

The starting age is fine, the server crashes at the point when you click the thumbnail for the larger image.

I have changed all the agents to point to my server.

I do not have Passport Advantage so I cannot contact IBM.

      Hi John,

your report about a crashing Domino server made me really sorry so I installed Lotus Domino 6.0.1CF1 on one of my old Linux servers. A replica of my picture database is running fine and I am still unable to reproduce the reported problem.

Are you able to reproduce the problem with the sample picture provided with the database or does it just happen with pictures you imported by yourself?

Do you have the chance to test the database on a higher Release of Lotus Domino?

  • My next move

By John Seto 2 decades ago

    Christian,

I am determined to get this database to work. I have installed a Domino server on my laptop and I will try and use that one. I will also try and get Domino 6.0.3 on my proper server and see if that works. Next I will try dig out my test server (i've not used this for a while) and install 6.5 on it. I will report the findings back to you later today or tommorrow.

    Thanks for your help again.

    Regards

    John

FYI, when looking thru the db in design (running 6.01) i encountered a number of "This element has been moidfied by a later version…" popups.

Thanks David, i noticed that too. I'd resaved the elements that gave me the error in 6.0.1 and it stopped that message popping up. But it still crashed the machine. Did the database work for your without any modification.

        • My findings so far

By John Seto 2 decades ago

Ok I've found out the following:

The WebBild form is the cause of the problem, there are 4 subforms within that form. I did a process of elimination and found that the subform called BlogScreen_RightBlocks causes my server to crash.

I have tried this on 6.0.1, I've not tried it on any other version.

Next thing is I am not sure how the import is supposed to work but I'll try and figure it out. I've installed EasyThumNails.
