• The formula has exceeded the maximum allowable memory usage

By Melanie Rose 2 decades ago

This description might be a bit long (sorry about that), but knowing the "history" might help. My server was running 6.5.1 Gold on Win 2000 and I had created several picture databases using an earlier version of the template (probably 0.9 or 0.9a). Although things were going well (I could see my photos using a browser, the thumbnails worked great and my Dad loved the new design of my site), it bothered me that every time I ran "lo design" on the server console, I noticed lots of these errors:

Warning: Cannot locate design template 'BlogSphere' used by 'Open Notes Picture DB'

I thought the way to fix this would be to put a signed copy of "bsphere.ntf" in the Server's data directory (give it what it "wants'). However, since that time (and after running "lo design" again), I've been seeing new errors on all of the existing picture databases:

AMgr: Error executing agent 'Verify Referers' in '.nsf'

Agent signer '/': You are not authorized to perform that operation

I have verified that the Admin whose name appears in the errors is in the "Run unrestricted methods and operations" field in the Security section of the server document and in the Administrators and even the Full Administrators fields, too. When the errors wouldn't go away, I even added that Admin to other fields, such as "Run restricted LotusScript/Java agents", but that did not help. So, I decided to get the latest version of the ONPD template and create a new database, wihout having a copy of the "bsphere.ntf" in the server's data directory (I just moved it to a different directory on the same machine, but not under the server's data directory, so the design elements should not be inherited from it by a new ONPD). I created the new database (using 0.9d) and imported a collection of JPG's which I had previously imported using an earlier version of ONPD (in which they did not cause any problems). Now, every time I click the new album name, the browser (IE6 with every available "patch") gives this error:

    The page cannot be displayed

and, the Domino server gives this error:

Warning!: 2 bytes unfreed Thread Local Memory allocated at nformula.cpp(78)

02/06/2004 11:33:07 PM HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - The formula has exceeded the maximum allowable memory usage. [//.nsf/plinks/ABCD-5EF79G]

I'm not sure what to do next, except go back to an earlier version of ONPD, for now, if I want to create any new picture DB's. The old ones still work, but all have the AMgr errors. I thought these problems might be caused (or made worse) by my upgrading the server to a "bleeding edge" version of 7.0 (it's more like an alpha than a beta, at the moment), but I tried some of these things on 6.5.1 Gold and the problems appear to be very similar (with very slight differences in the error messages). Please let me know if there is anything else which you would like me to try. Thanks!

      Melanie,

the fix in 0.9d should fix the "formula has exceeded the maximum allowable memory usage" problem. Try to resave the configuration documents as the problem was in the form "Web_Profile".

      Hope that helps.
