• database with missing ACL causes error

By Ian Cherrill 2 decades ago

If you have a database with no Access Control List at all ACLHelp logs an error message "special database object could not be found" and skips that database. This is probably because the program tries to read the ACL before doing an update.

Note that it is not possible to create a database with no ACL through any of the normal methods. I found my statrep.nsf database had this problem, but the bug is not likely to occur on most systems.
