• Some imported photos will display in Album but not when plink referenced

By Gregg Ginsberg 2 decades ago

I have imported numerous photos that for some reason show a resolution of "0x0" in the "all pictures" (Alle Bilder) view. The album view display's fine over the web, while trying to display individual photos displays only the underlying shadow.

The odd thing is that if I use the "Update pics to use fullsize" or "Update pics to use shadow" then the photos will display.

You can view what I mean at http://www.ginsberg.org/gallery/travel.nsf

Open the "Cruise – December 1988 (Aruba)" album and then attempt to view any of the photos. Additionally I have posted http://www.ginsberg.org/images/aruba.zip which all of the jpg files from that album as well as the gallery database.

    • Followup -- error logged

I forgot to add that when I try to display one of these photos I get the following entry in the server log:

Agent message: No Conf_Ref_Block in profdoc [line 45]

        Hi Greg,

I was able to find the problem source. In the ScriptLibrary "ImportPicture" we have a function called "ReadJPGFileInfo" which returns the resolution of a give file. If this routine fails to detect the image size due to an unknown image format it returns 0. So the image is displayed on your website with 0x0 which means invisible.

As a workaround net next release 0.9g will check for 0 size resolution information. Negative impact is just not having fullsize images and maybe no shadows.

To fix your already imported pictures open the view "All Pictures", select all affected documents and run both "Update pic's .." agents from the Actions menue.

        Chris
