Multi-Database Search Plugin - Feature Request: displaying search results & search on server and internet


Thanks a lot, our users really enjoy this plugin and have been waiting long long time for this.

There are several requests how the plugin should be improved to be the ultimate one stop user search assistant.

  • Searching also in databases on server
  • Searching e.g. at favorite Internet search provider
  • Users should be able to choose how the results are displayed
    display as it is now
    display results separated in list (e.g. separation line after the results of each source)
    display results on extra tab for every source
  • Normal users - which have a lot of local databases - might currently get irritated if they see the long list where they have to select the databases to be used by search.
    I suggest to display in the preferences dialog only databases currently used for multi-database search.
    Adding a database to search should be done by clicking a button and the using the "open database" (or something similar) dialog.
    For removing a database from search, removing the check mark as it is now is best solution.
