OpenNTF Mail Experience - Feature Request: Cancelled 'Calendar entries' and their display in views


Hi,

I am writing this additionally to this post:

My feature request would be to create a functionality that one can mark an existing "calendar entry" as "Cancelled". Such an entry would then stay in the views but it should be displayed with a different color (text and background) which could be configured in the calendar profile.

My suggested solution would be:

- modify the database-event 'Querydocumentdelete' in such a way that if the deleted document is a calendar-entry then only a new field "Cancelled" should be set to "1"
(it could be done even better if you would check if the field is not already set to "1". If it is then the document should really be deleted. This way the "first" deletion of a document would let it stay but it would change its color. A second hit on the -Del- Key would make it disappear.)

- the "Cancelled" field should be visible and editable in the form of a calendar entry so that one can reset it

- The "Calendar-Profile" should be changed in such a way that you could define a separate text and background color for "Cancelled calendar entries"

- All calendar views needs to be changed that way that the "color"-column at first respects the "Cancelled"-Status before anything else.

More ideas:
- of course some more Action-Buttons can be addes to the views like "Mark cancelled", "Mark active"...
- maybe this whole functionality could be configurable at all in the preferences: "Mark 'Calendar entries' as cancelled instead of deleting: Yes / No"

Possible problems:
- This could get even more complicated for 'repeated' calendar entries or for meetings where invitations have been send, but I would appreciate this function even if it could not serve this one.
- the cancelled entries should not "book" free time anymore so this needs to be reset
- if you create a new calendar entry for the same time as an cancelled entry then you should not get a message "You already have a meeging scheduled for this time ..." . Don't know if this can be done easily.
