XPages Wiki - Feature Request: Import content of MS Word and PDF documents into Wiki documents


My customers are all looking into the possibilities of the wiki for storing and distribution of their documentation. However most of it is in MS Word, MS Excel and PDF format.

To make the wiki really rock I badly need an easy to use import of several formats.
(As you all know the big DON'T of a wiki is attaching files....)

I cannot ask them to convert all of that manually. Copy-paste is too complicated since they are all users of the wiki. All of them make money doing their job. Not by going over some horrible procedure to get the documentation into a wiki.

(At LS2010 I promised to enter requests into the OpenNTF project)

You can use the rich text editor for rich text formating. You can also enter HTML to embed objects, e.g. to embed a YouTube video or a screenshot of the project. In this case use '[' and ']' to mark the passthrough HTML as such.

Please note that the first time you use the new UI your description is converted from rich text to MIME. You might want to copy and paste the raw plain text from the old UI in the new UI so that you don't loose information.
