• Delete Vacation

It would be nice if there was a way to delete a requested vacation request if plans change. Ideally, this would include backing out the entry in the personal calendar and re-calculating the annual leave allowance.

      Bruce,

Thank you again for your interest in Vacation Request!

For an approved Leave Request there is a Revoke Leave function/button which pretty much does what you have asked for. Goto the Leave Request Forms View, find the Leave Request for the already approved Leave in question, and click the Revoke button.

Also, in the next release (ready but not throughly tested) I have added a Cancel Leave function/button for cases where the Leave has been requested but not yet approved and the Requestor changes their mind.

      • Don't see this

By Bruce A Currier 2 decades ago

        Bob,

There is no link to this view. I can go to this using the "View, Go To" menu option, but that isn't very user-frienly. Once there, I do not see any Revoke button (as a general user). If I login with my admin level account then I see the "Revoke A/L - Admin" button. It doesn't look like (to me at least) that there is a way for the normal user of this application to get rid of a vacation request, only an admin.

          Bruce,

Thank you again for your interest in Vacation Request!

IMHO Cancelling Leave, whether Approved or not, should not be a function performed by Leave Requestors but rather by Leave approvers. Any approval or removal action needs review vis-a-vis insuring adequate personel are available for job requirements.

These actions are not expected to be the norm, but rather an exception. Hence, no easy link to the Leave Requests view was provided. Each person in the system can view all of their own Leave Requests from their My Leave Requests link.

I like this one as is. You can modify the hide-whens on the Actions in the Leave Request form if you need to customize for your company …
