• Problem with Send Type Icons

By Mike J Perrett 2 decades ago

I originally reported this as a bug but it actually works on newly created mail files but not my current one.

Am using 6.5.4 client. Have replaced the design of my mail file with v1.6 NTF. Have gone into Tools - Prefs and checked options for Send Type, Time and Size columns.

Time and Size appear fine, the Send Type column is inserted to the left but the blue/white icons do not appear. Created a new blank mail file from the template and everything works fine. If I copy and paste mail from my inbox to the test file the "Send Type" icon displays properly too.

Have deleted my local Cache.NDK and compacted my mail file and rebuild all views all to no avail. Anyone else got any ideas?

    Thanks

    Mike

    • Same problem here

By Ted Hardenburgh 2 decades ago

I'm experiencing the same issue. I thought it might have been an issue linked with the "created in a newer version" error I saw when looking at those image resources, but even after re-signing the designs, and then re-creating the image resources, they still don't show up. It's interesting to note that those are the only 3 images that give the "newer version" error.

    • Still a problem with the 1.7 release

The $DesignerVersion flag shows that the Mail Icon images were created in a 7 designer. I've tried again to remove the image resources and recreate them, but it's not working. Perhaps a new cut of the template with everything done in a 6.x designer might work.

      Thanks

In looking at the code more, I saw that the column in the Inbox depends on the database title to determine the user name. In my case, the database title was "Ted Hardenburgh's Mail" so it couldn't calculate the values for the column. I changed the database title last night and now today the column is working, although only for messages since I made the title change, I haven't looked to see the cause of that.
