• Problem starting kSpam 1.4b on Linux Domino 7 (Errors on startup)

    By Simon Pope 2 decades ago

    Hi – I'm hoping someone can explain to me why this isn't working. I performed a fresh install of kSPam 1.4b on Domino (Linux SuSE 9.3) and I get errors on startup. Any ideas why?

    Notes.ini contains entries for:

    SERVERTASKS=kspam, etc etc

    Extmgr_addins=libkspam.so

    The Domino executable directory (/opt/lotus/notes/70000/linux) contains both kspam and libkspam.so (owned by root:root and with permissions of 755) – so that seems ok.

    The databases have been created from their repective templates (kspamcon.nsf, mailgood.nsf, mailspam.nsf) – and the templates were signed with the server id before creating the databases – and there is a configuration document in kspamcon.nsf.

    I seem to be missing something though – comblist.txt is not being automatically created even though the uid running domino (notes) has full permissions for its directories and files – and the rest of Domino works like a charm.

    So, what's going on?

    • Permissions

      You say that the permissions on the kSpam files are set so that root has execute rights.

      But you also say that you use a different user for running the Domino server.

      I think that you should check that your notes user also has execute rights for the kSpam files.

      when message "comblist.txt not found" it's when this file does not exist. create this file "at hand" :

      cd/opt/lotus/notes/70000/linux

      touch comblist.txt

      and it's ok
