• Email workflow not working -

    Hi

    Great work very impresive. keep up the good work



    I have one small issue but important one.



    when a user sumits the holiday request the approval managers not reciving the request email. But if the managers open the database and approves or denies the request the users recives the approved/denied message.

    I am using latest version 224.



    I have followed the setup step by step. Do i need to creat an agent to do this or it is a manual aproval process by checking the database for any requests users submits. The instruction says "At this point the request will automatically be sent to the Approval Manager(s) of the team/location specified".

      Hi Henock,



      Thanks for your interest in Leave Request.



      Please have a look at your user's Location doc and in particular at their Mail settings. There are no agents involved in the workflow. I just use @MailSend to get the messges out when the docs are saved. If your user is using a local replica of their mail db, then they need to replicate to get the mail flowing.

        ALL the users are accessing there mail directly from server. There is an update in the mail flow problem, the only way i can get it to send the email to the approvers is when you create the request even though your name appears in the "For" automatically you need to click New for and select your name again and when you save and close then it send the email to the approver managers only. Is that how it suppose to work? or i am i missing something.

          Henock,



          The For button allows you to request leave For other people and is not normally used. Somehow you are not populating the fields on the form. Please try pressing F9 to refresh rather than using the For button and let me know your results.

            no difference, i tried refreshing before and after i clicked and save and close no email is sent to the approvers. and also should the team and the location filed automatically be populated? that is not populating as well. just to let you know the only feild is populating is the name which is "John Doe/mis/e/nec". this is automatically populted in "For" field when you click the leave request.

            • All Fields Have Defaults

              All fields have default values based on the person creating the leave request and their annual leave allocation record. Please insure that the person creating the leave request has an annual leave allocation. If not then they are not in the system and the behavoir that you experienced is expected. I'll also insure, in the next release, that the document refreshes all fields.

                the person requesting the leave has leave allocation and as i mentioned before if you click "New for" and select the person then the mail flow works. do you have any other suggesstion i could try please.

      just an idea, how do i get field to be populated when only a New For button is pressed and selected the user. i am trying to create two fields one is for requester and one for the "vacation For" field. That way i know users will select the New for field and select there names from the list.



      to be precise i want a new field for example the "req_1" but i only want this field to show the user when "new for" button is clicked and selected a user.



      Sorry i am not a developer hence the help.

        There are no new fields needed. I don't know what, but something is amiss in your configuration. The Leave Request form works as is at many installations.
