      • I would also like some information.

By Ryan B Partlow 1 decade ago

This looks like a very cool widget, but I can't seem to figure out how to add new mail databases. There must be some quick and easy way but I seem to be missing it.

        • Try the add mail database button

By Markus Köstner 1 decade ago

          Hi,

When you open the mail monitor sidebar element, there is a toolbar row. Please select the fourth button from the left with the tooltip "add a new mail database to monitor". After that there will be a selection dialog where you can choose between your own mail database, a custom database (e.g. an application database) or another mail database. If you choose "Other Mail database" another dialog follows. There you can enter the name of the person you want to monitor the mail database of (e.g. smith). Select the person in the result list and the database is then added to the monitor list (only if you have the proper access rights to the database!).

I hope this helps you a little bit…

          • Still not able to add new email databases

By Lawrence Q Kuhlman 1 decade ago

Hello, thank you for this widget and i can not wait to get it working so i can distribute this to all the people it will benifit within my company.

After adding the widget and rebooting it automatically added my personal mail file. Which is excellent.

I see the add new database icon but clicking on it brings up a window with three prefilled databases: Andere Mail-Datenbank, Benutzerdefinirt…, Larry Kuhlman. The first two i have no idea where it got them from the third one is me

Nothing happens when typing in the command line above the three listed options. When clicking on one of the fitst two it pops up different windows but i dont understand what to type in them to get to a databse i do want to open.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

            • Ahh, language problem...

By Markus Köstner 1 decade ago

              Hi,

You probably get the wrong language (German) displayed. Thats an error I´m going to look into as soon as possible.

When you click the add database button you first have the choice between your own mail file, another mail file (Andere Mail Datenbank) and user defined (Benutzerdefiniert).

If you choose "Andere Mail Datenbank" you get another dialog where you can type in the name of another Lotus Notes User. The User is searched in the Domino directory and a list with the matching users is displayed. You can then select the user you want to monitor the mail database.

If you choose "Benuterdefiniert" you get further dialogs asking for the Domino server, filepath and view of the application you want to monitor.

I hope this information helps you a little bit and sorry for the late response :-)

              Greetings

              Markus

              • Thank you for translating

By Lawrence Q Kuhlman 1 decade ago

That was a good explination and i am now able to add additional mail files. I am going to prepair some documentation to send to other people in my company on how to use it, if you like i can send you a copy.

Thank you again for this excellent tool.

                • Thank you

By Markus Köstner 1 decade ago

Great that it works now. I would love to get the documentation :-)

      • When is the doc ready?

By Jose Zaldivar 1 decade ago

This could be very useful. I like the idea of leveraging the side bar to display information and that it is 8.5 release and not just another old database design idea. Thanks!
