• kSpam on Suse 9.2 - how to

By Bernard Alic 2 decades ago

    Hi everyone,

I have Domino 6.5.4 installed on a Suse Linux 9.3 server. I downloaded kSpam_1.4b.zip and followed installation steps.

    • copied kspam, libkspam.so into …. notes/latest/linux folder and changed chomd
    • created mailgood.nsf, mailspam.nsf, kSpamCon.nsf DBs in/notesdata directory and signed them
    • created kSpam test configuration and one mail spam rule
    • changed notes.ini file with Extmgr_addins=spam instruction….

      So far so good…. :O)

      But when I load kspam in console … i get a response…

      kSpam.bload: File comblist.txt not found

      kSpam.bload: Loading words

      kSpam.bload: Null buffer encountered

      kSpam.bload: KERROR created

kSpam.bload: Bayesian error with spam data

      kSpam.bload: Null buffer encountered

      I tried with ks_debug=1 but I cannot find ks_log.txt

      show conf smtp.kspam.* isn't valid command….

      MY Questions?

      Who/ What/ When creates comblist.txt ?

Where can i read/ find KERROR file ?

      Where should I look for KS_LOG.TXT ?

      What am I missing ???????????????

ps. I promise to write step by step guide for newbies on linux/ domino/ kspam , when I get everything clear :O)

      Hi,

      please set

      KS_BL_DEGUB=1 (KS_DEBUG is only for the ext-mgr)

and look out for bload.txt (ks_log.txt is only for the ext-mgr, too)on your computer.

Are there any documents in your database? (needs to be one rule in KSpamConf.nsf and one mail in each mail*.nsf-database. (Perhaps NULL-Buffer means here: can't read a document in mailspam.nsf)

The file comblist will be calculated by kspam-addin. It's a temporary buffer for the Bayesian-list. This buffer speeds up starting the domino server greatly.

        Thanks for your tips!

Now I get bload.txt and I found "error: 2.1.4.Could not load configuration - could not open database"

I have kSpamCon DB with test conifguration setup >

        Title: Kspamcon

        Filename: kspamcon.nsf

        Phisical Path: ../notesdata/KSpamCon.nsf

Is it a problem with case sensitive names?

Do I have a problem with rights, users ?

What ACL do I need on "spam" nsf ?

        Thank you, for your efford.

I found the KSpamCon.nsf filename to be a PIA when created through note and eventually symlinked it. mv was not enough, it seemed. This was 6.5.4 no slackware 10.1

Now it works perfectly and I get < 1% false positives with around 1500 mails in mailspam and bayesian doing most of the work. I mostly only use rules for whitelisting items.

My congrats to the team, btw :)
