• Update with 6.5.6 default mail template?

By symetrik design 2 decades ago

I've just added a request which asks if it would be feasible to update OpenNTF 1.7b with the Default 6.5.6 mail template. There are some changes in the 6.5.5 and/or 6.5.6 mail templates that alleviate the Mail Rules working improperly or working after they have been deleted.

Is there further work being done on OpenNTF 1.7b? This is a great tool and our organization uses it.

I wrote the help documentation for it and would love to watch it's success continue.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

    Kind Regards

    • I haven't planned a new version on ND6

Maintaining 2 template versions (and checking out the ND8 template of course) takes a lot of time, and well to be frank, I have to make a living too ;-).

But feel free to either cutover the 6.5.6 library's to 1.7b or cutover all openntf stuff to the vanilla 6.5.6 template.

I will be happy to put it on this site.

I'm afraid that I'm not an advanced developer, but I could give it a try.

What would be the steps that you would suggest?

Would you recommend taking the 6.5.6 default mail template and putting those deign elements into the OpenNTF 1.7b template or vice versa?

Does OpenNTF 1.7b inherit design elements from the default R6 Mail template (similar to the recommended way of customizing the Name and Address book) or vice versa?

        Thanks for your response anyway!

        • If you are not an experienced developer...

… I would recommend that you find someone that is.

Mail is very important to people, they will never forgive if something goes wrong.

If there is no developer at your company maybe you could hire somebody to do it for you.
