Backoffice / Helpdesk System for Notes / Domino
I have found a bug in the !!HELP!! application that causes Notes to completely crash, with no red box or anything. Notes is then unable to be restarted without rebooting the machine (even tried ZapNotes). I have also confirmed that this problem isn't restricted to just my workstation as it happens on other machines as well. I am running Notes 6.5.4 by the way (but also had the problem in Notes 6.5.3). Here are the steps to re-produce the problem:
reproduce this.
I've done a bit more research and apparently this is a known bug in Notes 6.5.4: "clicking in a tabbed table containing an embedded view, Notes either terminates abnormally without any warning or issues an "Exception error" message." IBM has issued SPR# GPKS6CKCSP for it -> http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21209355. Looks like the only workaround is to design the form in Domino Designer R6.5.3. Otherwise we'll have to hope it's gets fixed in 6.5.5. -Ernie
Thank you for your research. I've tested with 6.5.4 Client/ Designer (german) on W2K and XP SP2, but Notes won't crash. What am I doing wrong ?
Perhaps it's not a problem in the German version of 6.5.4? Hard to believe but you never know. In any case here's a thread about the problem that's posted in the Domino 6 forum: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/df0897d6dde63d8d85256fe800543be7?OpenDocument As stated in the thread, open a form that has a tabbed table with one tab that contains an embedded view, then if you click on that tab and go to another tab and click on some text, that has a hide-when formula - the Designer client and Notes client disappear. This is exactly the problem I have when I click on the 'ToDo' tab in the Client (or the '5' tab in Designer) and then go to the 'System' tab (aka '4' tab) and click one one of the text areas.
