• Folder unread msg count

By Ken Behrens 2 decades ago

I moved the domino data directory to a new physical disk (only the data dir, nothing else). One of my server mail files has the junk folder unread msg count stuck at 7 and the folder name in bold even though the user has deleted all e-mails in the folder. Any time e-mail is moved to the junk folder the count increments to 7 + the number of new unreads. The user has 2 rules set to move e-mails to the folder. One rule is based on e-mail content and the other is base on a specific sender e-mail address. A manual drag and drop of an unread e-mail cause the same problem as well.

The only things I have tried is replacing the design from the 1.3 template and a force one way replication from the users laptop local mail file to the server since it did not exhibit the problem.

Any suggestions on how to reset the count??

The unread count feature in Notes 6.x has been buggy from day one. I have had this happen with

      many a non-OpenNTF mail file.

    • Mark deleted mails read

I found out, that sometimes it helps to mark all mails in the trash folder as read, if they are unread they are sometimes still counted to the folder that contained them before you deleted them.

      From Newbs

1.) Open the "All Documents" View

2.) Do "View-Show-Unread Only" to select only unread docs.

3.) Do "Edit - Select All" (or CTRL-A for the keyboarders out there)

4.) Do "View-Show-Unread Only" to un-select only unread docs.

5.) Do Edit - Unread Marks - Mark All Read

6.) Do Edit - Unread Marks - Mark Selected Unread (or the Insert Key for the keyboarders out there)

Complex, but has worked for me so far…
