• More R8 finds

    Vince,

A couple of other issues that I have found with the new template.

    1. the Forward MIME to RFC-822 is not there in the R8 ONTF. Did you leave it out on purpose? We actually use that pretty frequently. Is there a built-in way to do it in R8 without the ONTF addition?

    2. The upgrade folder design under the actions menu is no longer there either. We need this for upgrading folders when we do upgrades from previous template versions. Or do we??

This can be found in the Lotus Notes Basic Client via:

Actions -> Folder -> Update Folder Design

But when you upgrade this can be also done via convert task and -u.

      Example:

      load convert -u mail\x\xy.nsf * mailtemplate.ntf

        Thanks Bastian.

I hadn't noticed it tucked away under the Folder sub-menu.

I know about the load convert -u command, but here's what happened…

This came up because I learned the hardway that you can't have a mailbox on a R6.5 server in 6.5 OpenNTF template, and the same mailbox on an R8 server with the R8 OpenNTF template.

We setup the ACL so that the R8 servers are only editor on the R6.5 servers, and vice versa. This does not let design replicate.

All sounds good. However, it turns out that when you create a folder, a folder is a design element.

If you work on an R6.5 machine part of the time and an R8 machine the rest of the time for piloting/testing…Your folders don't synch.

I played with the ACL to try and get the folders replicating, but not the design and what ended up happening was that the R8 design went to my R6.5 server, and the mailbox was totally hosed.

I fixed the ACL, replaced the design of the mailbox on both servers, and then realized that the folders I created on the R6.5 server had replicated to the R8 server, but they were not in R8 format.

I then wanted to upgrade the folder design and couldn't find it.
