• Email imports but where?

    By Mark A H 2 decades ago

Notes email is sucessfully being imported (most times) but some emails do not log against the contact even though the import agent says it has matched the email address. Hence, I cannot find the email agains the contact in VIC, but do a search in VIC and the email shows.

Could someone please advise, or is there a bug?

    Regards,

    Mark.

Email goes into the Journal DB under correspondence…

Thanks Robert, but why do some emails get imported by the agent but don't show up against the contact. They are moved from the Notes Inbox to the VIC processing folder but can only be found within VIC if I do a search, for some reason they are not connected to the contact. This only happens with some contacts and I've double checked there email addresses to ensure they are correct (the agent wouldn't move them anyway).

Very frustrating, any ideas?? P.S. most of my email addreses are in the notes CN=…./OU=…/O=…format.

        • Only show up with a search?

By Dave Leigh 2 decades ago

Are you saying that they don't show up in the mail views in the Journal?

Typically emails that are imported but not associated will show up as "->Imported - To Be Filed"

          • Not Associated

            By Mark A H 2 decades ago

Now that you've highlighted this, they do show up in the "VIC Journal - My Journal" window. However, they must not be associated with any contacts as they don't show in the "VIC Journal - MyMail" or "VIC Journal - MyMailbyOrganization" windows.

How do you associate them? Where does "->Imported - To Be Filed" appear?

Why aren't they automatically associating if the email addresses match?

            Look forward to your help.

            Mark.

            • "To Be Filed" is a category in the Mail views

By Dave Leigh 2 decades ago

If you're not seeing these items in the "MyMail…" views, try looking at the "AllMail…" views. Perhaps it's you that's not being associated.

If they don't appear there, try contacting me on IM or by phone. We can post the results here. Troubleshooting by forum is an exercise in patience. While I'm sure it builds character, the last thing the world needs is for me to be more of a character.
