• Follow Up not working

By Mark J. Schubert 2 decades ago

I've tried everything - except 1. The dang follow-up does not work - period.

If I convert the mesage to a "ToDo" - that's OK. If I select "ToDo" (from under the folders) I see all the messages I flaged and converted to "ToDo" items. Also switching to the full "ToDo" displays the correct/expected results.

If I simply want to "Flag for Follow Up" using the ExtR6 template, this Flags the msg with a little green flag, and I can see it in the "Follow Up" section (below the folders). But with the Open ME 1.0a template, I see nothing. No flag, and nothing in the "Follow Up" Section. I do see the messages if I click the "Follow Up" folder (or view) - but that's not really where I WANT to (or expect to) see them - and still no little green flag indicating the flag was set correctly.

I've never been able to get this to work consistently since I started using OpenNTF templates - I started long ago with the first OpenNTF Mail Template - then switched to Mail Experience.

thanks for a great enhancement otherwise though! :-)

    Mark.

    • After all that work.... :(

.. it comforts me that it works just fine for me ;)

Are more people seeing this? If so please post as bug.

This is the reason I didn't post as a bug. I'm betting there is something else wrong - probably with me. I have no control over my servers (company thing) but I'm sure they are NOT 6.0 or higher. Could that b the problem?

I've since reloaded v1.2 (Mail Template) and it seems to work - much better. Still no visible little green flag though.

        • Yup, that's it

As it says in the release notes; min.spec. for ME is for 6.5.

The reason is quite simple: Lotus added similar functionality to the 6.5 template as we did for 6.0 (OpenNTF Mail Template). I don't think we should persue our own methods (read fields and functions) over the methods lotus implemented in their 6.5 version (Hey there's no way i can compete with a whole team of top developers).

In short: This functionality is not availlable for 6.0. You should use the OpenNTF Mail Template :(.
