• May be a bug or by design - Follow Ups

By Mike J Perrett 2 decades ago

I've noticed since moving from the standard Notes template that My Follow up view also contains ToDo items and there is even an old appointment from 2002 appearing on the list.

In the case of ToDo's this may not be a bug, but I think it probably is with the appointment (although I can't see what is unique about this appointment).

Either way, can we have a preference on the dialogue box to "Only show follow up items in Follow Up view".

    Thanks

    Mike

    • Same problem here . . .

By Sean Harris 2 decades ago

I have seen this problem since 1.2. All of my followup documents are at the op, but right below them I have my ToDos and Invitations. If I replace the design with the standard Notes 6.5 Template, the problem goes away, but if I replcae it with the OpenNTF 1.4 Template the problem comes back.

      • Try this...

Test it with the OpenNTF Mail Experience International (1.0Beta2) template and tell me what the view looks like.

        Cheers,

          Thanks Ben,

What ever you have changed, fixed the problem. Please let Vince know.

Another problem I'm having with the standard OpenNTF ME template (and, unfortunately, yours it seems as well), is that the view "Today's Mail" is showing more than just today's mail.

Some things that I noticed that were different on your template:

You're missing the Size Meter icon for the view "by Size"

There seems to be some alignment problem in the navigator. Either the dark blue boarder on the left side in the navigator seems to be a little thicker than normal, or there is a white boarder just to the right of the dark blue boarder or the lighter blue background is not aligned.

In the Trash folder you have the Date and Time columns, instead of Deleted On and Delivered On columns.

Your Reply action button only uses the OpenNTF "Preferences for default behavior" in the Inbox. In all the other views it uses the standard Lotus behavior.

Your "by Date" view is missing the Reply action button, and instead has a "… with Internet History" button.

          Looking good though!!

          Regards

          Sean T.

            >What ever you have changed, fixed the problem. Please let Vince know.

Fact is, I didn't change anything…Vince did. The Follow Up view in my template is a completely unmodified Lotus 6.5.2 view. I'm carefully adding Vince + Co's superb features into it whilst trying hard not to break the Lotus stuff which I knew was a problem in the standard ONTF template.

            >Another problem I'm having with the standard OpenNTF ME template (and, unfortunately, yours it seems >as well), is that the view "Today's Mail" is showing more than just today's mail.

I did copy this view directly from ONTF 1.4 so they will be the same. I will fix the bug though before I reach a full release.

            >Some things that I noticed that were different on your template:

As stated in the release notes, mine is just a work in progress for now; I know it's not finished. As soon as I've brought everything across, like the size meter, it'll be just fine. I know I've only really modded the Inbox so far too. Your list will help me with what I've missed. I should have daily releases this week hopfully which will add in the features I've had time to add in each day.

Thankfully we'll have some documentation when I've finished ;O)

            Cheers,

            Ben

The new 1.0Beta3 version of the OpenNTF template should resolve your reported problems.

You guys are doing a superb job on enhancing the Notes Mail Template and giving Lotus some ideas on how to make it better!!!
