• Install?

By Randy Thomas 2 decades ago

Sorry if this should be obvious, but I'm new to Notes and couldn't find this in any of the docs here: how do I install this template?

If I double-click the .ntf file, it does load into notes, but I have to accept a bunch of security warnings, and even then it does not show any of my mails in the inbox. I guess I have to configure something, but I can't quite figure what (default notes view shows inbox emails OK).

Is there a way to make this template the default on opening?

Whilst in your mail file, select replace design from the menu and select the downloaded template.

For more information check the help files.

      • No such option

There is no option to browse to/select a file when I select File->Database->Replace Design. I get a dialog that has a drop-down for template server (can choose Local, or my domino server, or other) – each of those options gives a list, none of which appear to be the ntf file I downloaded here.

I tried putting the ntf file in lotus/notes and lotis/notes/data – is there someplace else it should go?

        Thanks,

        Randy

        • That is the wrong button..

… you selected 'Refresh Design' not 'Replace Design'.

I suggest to get a good book on Lotus Notes usage or check the help files.

Thanks for the reply, but no – I did not select "Refresh Design". I did, in fact, select "Replace Design" and the result was (and is, just tried it again) exactly as I described.

A book. To use an email client. Awesome.
