• Store registered users

By arjan kessels 2 decades ago

    I am using R 1.0. I can´t setup the user registration for another database. I don´t want to use names.nsf, but a copy of names.nsf, named forumnames.nsf.

In the config. doc. it is possible to fill in this database name, but when you´re using the forum in the browser, the login link uses the names.nsf instead of the alternative forumnames.nsf.

How can I fix this? Or it is possible to store the users in the forum.nsf database itself?

    With regards,

U should be able to use another directory without any pb. (see in the db configuration)

The login url is still names.nsf ?Login, but that's only a Domino URL command :)

Ping me at yahoo/ aim : mbourak if you encounter any pb.

Sorry, I can´t pm you, at my work I can´t use any messenger.

New users can register in the forumnames.nsf. This is working fine. The names and other information is stored in the database I set in the config. doc. But… when a user wants to login through the browser, they can´t. Only users in the names.nsf on the server can login succesfully. This is strange… user registrations are going to forumnames.nsf, but the login seems te be related to names.nsf on the server.

Maybe there´s a 'hard' coded link to names.nsf for the login procedure or something?

I don´t want users to register in the names.nsf, because they are using strange names very often (like 'Muppet', 'Spiderman' etc) and the names.nsf is our corporate adresbook for notes users/ id´s.

        • DO you have directory assistance enabled...

so the second directory is used by Domino for authentication ?

          • Same thing here

I have this same thing happening on a new install. I created a new directory file just for the forums, and users can register fine but when the logon window appears, it will only let people in names.nsf log on, not the second file, webnames.nsf. I have tried setting up directory assistance, but that did not seem to make a difference. Anyone have any ideas? I see this post was a while ago, does anyone know the solution?
