    Would it be possible to choose the columns you wish to display?  I would like to be able to display the following in the sidebar for our group:

     

    Name      Office Phone      Pager     Cell      Home

     

    It would be great to be able to choose which fields to display in the preferences.

    Can you set the preferences before distributing the sidebar?  For instance, if you want to point to the XPages Phonebook for a particular group, can you set that before putting it in the Widgets Catalog?

      I'm also planning to add a feature to add a custom application, the preferences will need a view, fieldnames and ofcourse the columns you would like to display. I'm not sure you can edit the defaults from the preferences before deploying, I'll take a look at that too.

        I look forward to it! I noticed when I tried to add locations to the XPages Phonebook, the Phonebook sidebar tried to have them as contacts. Another suggestion, when you right click on the name, have the option to open the database where the contact is or even present more information on the user. For instance, if you are showing Office, Pager, Cell and Home numbers, have the drop down show other information that the user can customize (work site, fax number, etc.)

          The bug that processes locations as contacts (from the Xpages phonebook) is fixed in next version. Also next version has a 'open contact' function so it opens the contact from within its current application.
