• Where are my fields?

By Paul J Whitehead 1 decade ago

I have excised a module from a larger database and updated its design. The DMA should allow me to upload all the historical data I need. However….

When I create a conguration, I can see the fields for every form apart from the one I need !? I assume I am doing something wrong … but what ?

I am using Domino 6.5.4 server. The form names and aliases are the same in each database.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    • Try re-selecting the form

      Hi Paul,

Please try re-selecting the form. When you click OK this should refresh the field list.

If the field is on a subform, you will need to manually type it in under the "Advanced Options" under "Data to Move".

Let me know how this goes. If this does not work you may need to email me the design of the databases - assuming that this is not confidential.

        Tried that - still nothing.

As it happens most of the fields I require are on subforms so I was typing them in anyway, but there were a couple (not really required) that should have shown up.

I'm afraid I can't post the template, but I will investigate further once my project has finished.

Even with my tiny glitch, this is a truly great tool. Thankyou for sharing - it has saved our team hours of drudgery!

        Best regards

        Paul

Not sure why that's happening. Thanks for your feedback on the tool.

I am looking at an option that will get the field list by getting a handle to a random set of documents - rather than simply reading this from the form. Another option would be to select the subforms that the form uses. This probably won't be included in the next release but it is in the pipeline.
