• Problem with Blocks

By Tim Campbell 2 decades ago

    Hello,

First off, I would like to say thanks for this awesome template! I have been using this template on my site ( http://www.t27.ca/photo.nsf ) for a while now, and I really like it!

I just upgraded to version 1.1.7, and have come across a problem. I have found that if too many blocks are configured to appear on the right side of the screen, the page will not load (in the web browser). Instead you get the following:

    Error 500

HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - Array index out of bounds

To get around the problem, I simply moved some blocks to the left side of the screen. However, for aesthetic reasons, I would like to have both the left and the right sides approximately the same as each other. In earlier versions of the template, it was possible to have more on the right side.

I just thought that I would let you know about that problem. Thank you, again, for creating such an awesome template!

      Hi Tim,

we have the very same problem in the Blogsphere template and I was able to reproduce it.

Unfortunately I do not have a solution to provide as the root cause is still unknown.

In the subform D6.SideBlocks under the computed value for the right block, in the formula under title there is a LeftBlockInfo instead of a RightBlockInfo. After replacing this, the problem was fixed.

Thank you for posting this template at OpenNTF! I am a very happy Open Notes Picture base user.

I found another small bug, at least it was causing some problems with Internet Explorer on my site. In the $$ViewTemplate For Albums en Albums_sub I added

          before and
after the embedded view, so the thumbnails align again. Otherwise they would continue beneath the blocks on the right side.

The new template is great! I made some adjustments to one of the previous versions so I could categorize my albums, but your solution with the subalbums works great too. Thanks again.

          Regards,

          Valesca
