Defrag and optimize Domino databases managed by XPages mobile solution
First off - great project! Thanks for your effort. In my company we have a few Domino servers running on Windows 2003 (32bit). Last weekend I installed the latest version of DominoDefrag on all of them (after testing of course) and it works great - except on our mail server I get this message for each database: 08.05.2010 06:00:13 DominoDefrag: mail\XXX.nsf problem executing command contig.exe -a "d:\Lotus\Domino\data\mail\XXX.nsf"/accepteula This machine is Windows 2003/SP2. We are running "SpamSentiel" on this server to handle the SPAM - and I suspect that might have something to do with this but I'm just speculating. Have you seen this message before?
No haven't seen this before. Thanks for your positive feedback & will try out spam sentinel and get back to you. Downloading eval copy now….
Just installed eval copy of SpamSentinel v7 on a Windows 2003 32bit R851 Domino server running with DominoDefrag 2.4.3 and ran ok for me with no contig.exe execution errors. Just released DominoDefrag 2.4.3 yesterday - can you try with that? And what version of SpamSentinel are you running?
Hi Andrew and thank you for the quick response :-) I downloaded the latest version and got the same result. Did a few more tests with no luck and then I tried running Contig.exe using a command console. The problem seems to be with Contig.exe - I use the following: ================== D:\Lotus\Domino>Contig.exe -a -s "D:\Lotus\Domino\data\mail\bis\xxx.nsf" Contig v1.55 - Makes files contiguous Copyright © 1998-2007 Mark Russinovich Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com No files found that match D:\Lotus\Domino\data\mail\bis\xxx.nsf ================== I then tried a file in the same directory as contig - on the C drive and all with the same result. Had a look at the security settings and they look fine - I'm running this as administrator and the server is running under the system account. Have you seen this before? Did a quick google search with no luck.
haven't see this error before where file exists. found this url http://forum.sysinternals.com/topic14617_page1.html perhaps try a manual contig.exe -a d:\lotus\domino\mail\xxx.ns* perhaps ntfs index is corrupt on your server and a windows server rebuild is required… Sorry no more ideas
