• OpenLog Feature Problem After Upgrading to 9.0.1FP3IF1

By Michael Residori 9 years ago

Hi Paul, We have been using your OpenLog Logger as an OSGI plug-in for quite some time now. However, after updating my designer client to v9.0.1FP3IF1 the OpenLog feature was uninstalled and I get this when trying to reinstall it:

Here's what I did that seems to have caused the problem:

    1. I downloaded the latest version of the extension library to test in our dev
environment before upgrading in production. Our previous version was 9.0.1.v00_06_20140424-0600.

      2. When trying to import to our Update Site database I received
      an LS2J error (documented here
      http://www.openntf.org/main.nsf/project.xsp?r=project/XPages%20Extension%20Library/discussions/586418F6A18C7A0B86257DDC004CD309).

      3. I installed 9.0.1FP3IF1 on my Notes client and was then able to
      import the update site.

      4. I then installed the latest version of the extension library into my designer client.

      5. After restarting the designer client this shows up in the XSP Properties of databases using the OpenLog feature:

    2. Prior to the upgrade the Application Management properties looked like this (screen shot taken from a different computer than the one upgraded):

      Inline image 1

After the upgrade the Application Management properties look like this:

As you can see the OpenLog feature is not there and when I try to re-install it I get the “No acceptable features found” error.

I even tried downloading the OpenLog plugin from OpenNTF thinking maybe my file got corrupted to no avail. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a corruption of application management rather than anything specific to OpenLog. I've seen this before with various plugins, when it gets confused about whether a specific plugin is installed or not.

Check plugins and features folders under IBM\Notes\Data\workspace\applications\eclipse. Delete anything for com.paulwithers.openLog that's there. It may not have removed both the feature and the plugin.

If there's nothing there, check Help > Support > View Log or View Trace for any messages referring to the plugin.

Thanks for the quick reply. You're right, nothing with the OpenLog plugin. I did find errors in the log so something must have got corrupted at some point. I had to uninstall and reinstall the Notes client to get things working again. I only installed up to 9.0.1FP3 thinking there may be an issue the 9.0.1FP3IF1 install - everything was working before the install. I may do some testing on that later. In the mean time all is well :). Thanks again!
