• Hnafling Holiday falling on Saturday/Sunday

By Seni Budi 2 decades ago

Just downloaded the softewsare, and am looking at it now. I see that there is not much activity here.

Not sure if cover Singapore/Malaysia in your company.

In some countries such as Singapore and Malaysia, if a holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday. The holiday is replaced in the following manner.

If the Holiday fall on Saturday,

For companies that works on Saturday, – Saturday is an off day

For Company that is off on Saturday – an additional day is added to annual leave.

    If Holday falls on Sunday,

Following Monday is a public Holiday.

Not sure if your updated version would handle this?

    • Holidays on Saturday/Sundays

      Hi Seni,

You can modify the Duration field formula on the Leave Request form to indicate which days make up the weekend.

      The line

      tmpWeekEnd:= 1:7;

states, in the default formula, that day 1 (Sunday) and day 7 (Sunday) make up the weekend. If your country has different weekend days then you state them here.

      I hope this helps,

      Gary

    • Vacation Request Has Great Flexibility

      Seni,

In addition to changing the definintion of weekend days programatically as Gary mentions, you can set your holidays as you please since our application gets its holiday schedule only from its system administrators.

For each year system administrators must set which days are holidays in each country of interest. My company does have a Singapore office. We have an administrator there input the holidays so that they are in agreement with local company policies. In most countries we have a local administrator input their local "Official Company" holidays.

I intend to develop a "carry forward" agent for holidays and annual leave allowances. As you point out so well, however, it must be VERY flexible so as to work correctly in all countries.

Thanks for your interest in our application,

      Bob
