• kSpam on Debian - no sign of life

By Dirk Schaare 2 decades ago

We're running 6.5.3 on Debian Sarge without problems. Installed kSpam as advised, signed Databases, added the Servertask/Extmgr entries and a standard config/ sample rule. Server restarted without probs and these loglines:

Up to this point everythink looks good. But there are no further signs of life from kSpam. The task is running, but no Spams are filtered, no Mails are copied, no entries in the mailrouting log.

    Any ideas?

      Hi,

      can you post the notes.ini (ExtMgr_ADDINS=…, kspam-Settings in Notes.ini and Config-Dok)?

      Greetings Hans-Georg

        Hello Hans-Georg,

        here are the relevant lines:

        -notes.ini-

        (KS_BAYESIAN_PREP). Yes

        (KS_BAYESIAN_PREP_2). No

        (KS_BL_DEBUG). Yes

Everything looks pretty good, as no kerror.txt is written and in bload.txt i see:

        Config from db: dumplists=yes, log=yes, wait=180, ignore="

        Loading words

        Finished loading words

        free(NODE_LIST)

        free(NODE_LIST)

        Calculating probabilities

        free(NODE_LIST)

        free(NODE_LIST)

        Finished calculating probabilities

        free(NODE_LIST)

        free(NODE_LIST)

        Loading function pointers

        free(NODE_LIST)

        Ready

        which looks normal to me.

In the Notes Admin i see the "kSpam Bayesian" Task is running. The Agent "returnReceiptRemoval" from Database "mailgood.nsf" is shown, but scheduled as "never start". This is the only Agent that is shown in the Admin Application.

There are no sign of kspam in the mailrouting log when mail comes in. Also no kspam entries in the stats.

After 2 days of trying every tip found in the discussion or the atnotes forum, i completely ran out of ideas.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

        • Any rules and search for ks_log.txt

By Hans-Georg Franke 2 decades ago

          Hi,

do you have in minimum one rule document? If not kspam only writes a short errormessage in the log file. Normally it is named "/home/notesdata/ks_log.txt" (this is a bug). Please try to find this file. If you can't find it, please make the diretory/home/notesdata and try again.

          Greetings Hans-Georg

I have one sample rule each in deny and allow. My datadir for the domino user is/data/notes. I've created/home/notesdata now as you suggested and made it writable for the domino user, but ks_log.txt is not written at all. In the meantime, I've opened the mailspam.nsf and mailgood.nsf with Designer, signed and activated the agents as neccessary. Still no Mails filtered or copied…

              Hi,

              please run

              /opt/lotus/bin/nsd -info

and search for "Executable and Libraray Files". Is libkspam mentioned there?

        • Name of config-db?

By Hans-Georg Franke 2 decades ago

Its case sensitive and must be kSpamCon.nsf. Any other will not work.

          Greetings Hans-Georg

I've tried KSpamCon.nsf and kSpamCon.nsf, but first letter didn't seem to make any difference. Now it's kSpamCon.nsf as you suggested.
