• I don't know if it works correct

    By Carsten Braun 2 decades ago

    Hi all

    we installed kspam 6 weeks ago, and I could't see that it works. I move every day the mails from mailgood.nsf to mailspam.nsf and now we have 182 spam documents in mailspam.nsf. But in nearly all documents KS_BL_PROB is 0.0000, in two docs it is 0.0001. What I'm doing false? Can anybody help me?

    Here's my configuration in notes.ini

    ExtMgr = kspam

    KS_RELOAD=1

    KS_BAYESIAN_FILTER=1

    KS_BAYESIAN_MARK=1

    KS_BAYESIAN_PREP_2=1

    KS_BL_PERIOD=180

    Thanks in advance

    Carsten

      hi!

      notes.ini:

      put the spam at the end of the line like below

      EXTMGR_ADDINS=[………………………..],spam

      here my config:

      KS_BAYESIAN_FILTER=1

      KS_BAYESIAN_MARK=1

      KS_DEFAULTACTION=3

      KS_RELOAD=1

      KS_STATS=1

      KS_BL_PERIOD=180

      KS_BL_IGNORE=multi-part,MIME,nbsp,href,DIV,mso,endif,meta,http-equiv,TITLE,cellspacing,cellpadding,FFFFFF,ffffff,TITLE,face,FONT,PUBLIC,div,font-size,cellPadding,cellSpacing,10px,arial,Helvetica,bgColor,span,Arial,WordDocument,vlink,align,img,src,SIZE,

      CONVERTER_LOG_LEVEL=10 SH ST SMTP.KSPAM.*

      should work now, maybe you have to less spammails in mailspam.nsf

    • kSpam working?

      By Ryan Benech 2 decades ago

      When you copy the SPAM message from mailgood, it does not re-compute the probabilities, so they will still have a probability around 0 (good). I've only begun to see real results when the spam:good ratio is 2:1 (or more SPAM). Delete older good mail until you reach a similar ratio. Also, use the "IGNORE" keywords (be sure it ends in a , - comma) as suggested in other posts around here.

      I recommend using the alternative mail client put out by "Matt" ( http://www.taet.com.au/mb.nsf/d6plinks/MSMH-5ZSCWT ) to have your users help populate MailSpam and MailGood.

      When you do turn KS_BAYESIAN_PREP_2=1 off, you will have to catch the false positives (good mail blocked & copied to mailspam.nsf).

      This is my typical routine, takes 5+ min per 100 messages:

      • Scan thru MailGood for mis-identified spam. select and "copy to spam"
      • Delete the rest of the mail good entries
      • Scan thru MailSpam for any false positives (good mail), select them, CTRL+C (Copy), "Copy into Mail Good", Open mail.box, CTRL+V (paste) good messages to be delivered
      • Now confirm all spam as spam & all good as good.

        I am hoping that "bLoad" is much faster in the next release because it uses 90%+ of my servers resources for a good 5-10 minutes. The server becomes unresponsive, effectively causing a denial of service attack. That's with 4k Spam and 2k Good…
    • Thanks
