• Could not find an URL to launch

By jeff wagner 2 decades ago

A heavy ACT user who got fed up with act separate from Notes, thought I would give this a try, looks great.

However, I get this when trying to launch "Could not find an URL to launch".

I went through the setup directions three times and am pretty computer competent but can't figure it out. Any help would be most appreciated!

with the 1206 release. the 1107 version does not have the error. Maybe Dave is aware of it already.

    • Same error message

The 'UpperLeft' frame in the 'CratchitMain' frameset contains a computed URL but I can't find where it is defined, this frameset contains a 'LowerLeft' frame which supposed to load 'NavPage' but because of the error it doesn't load, this contains the 'Local' option referred to in the release notes and install notes.

Hi, I'm trying to install on our as400 and I'm getting this error. Were you guys able to resolve it? I've tried the last 2 releases and I'm getting the error with both.

      Thanks

The problem is because the Logo is now loaded from user defined pages instead of design elements.

Sadly, those that are in the template include the template as part of the URL. Here's how to fix it…

      1. Select the Config db on your Workspace page. Do not open it.
      2. Holding down Ctrl+Shift, select View, then Goto, then "(Lookup - Logos)"
      3. You'll see a couple of documents there. You'll also see that the URLs are just wrong.
      4. Select the "[Default]" logo and click Edit Logo. Highlight the picture and press Ctrl+C. Close the document.
      5. Click Add Logo and paste in the one you just copied, then give it the name "[Default]". Save the document.
      6. You can do the same to the other logo.
      7. Delete the entries with the old, bad URLs. The good URL will contain the path of your config db.

        That should do it.

I'm really sorry about that, folks. If any of you have trouble getting this to work I will personally help you through it, or even do it for you if you don't mind letting me with LogMeIn or similar tool. You shouldn't have any difficulty finding my contact information on http://www.cratchit.org.

I've been fairly quiet (gotta pay the mortage, too), but I am working on a release that will include an INSTALLER to prevent issues like this. I'd been hoping someone would help with a contribution in that regard, and since that's not likely to happen I'm just doing it.
