• Making Progress

By John Q Parker 2 decades ago

Sorry for the double post, but I realized that nobody sees replies to replies here.

OK, I think I am slowly getting there. I think there are several holes in the docs (e.g. load kspam task, minimum one mail each in mailspam.nsf and mailgood.nsf, etc), I will be happy to fix when this is working for me.

I now have no errors in my log on startup,

Spam is not being filtered. I have this rule:

    Deny Rule:

    Priority: 100

    From contains:

    To contains:

    Subject contains: equifax

    Body contains:

    Attachments:

    Action: Copy & Deny

    Mark with:

    Probability Increase: 0

Messages containing 'equifax' in the subject whiff right by kspam into my mailbox. Any suggestions? Should I turn on debugging or is there a simpler way to test?

    Thanks

      Hi,

I see from your log that libkspam.so is not properly loaded.

Only the bayesian addin is working.

      1) You must have the smtp task enabled

      2) You have to see on the console (last kspam version):

      kSpam.extmgr: Loading rules

kSpam.extmgr: Finished loading rulesshould see ""Loading rules…"

this is the kspam engine. This engine calls also the bayesian part that does not work alone.

If you do not see this it means that libkspam.so needs some more libraries on your linux platform.

You can check this and make it work with

      ldd libkspam.so

every thing has to be linked.

      Then it should work.

      Best Regards,

      Nico

Success! Another reboot after adding emails to mailspam and mailgood seems to have worked.

Many thanks to all who helped.

I finally see light at the end of the spam tunnel!
