• Still No Luck

By John Q Parker 2 decades ago

Can anyone here please share their success? I am getting nowhere here…

I have one (ineffective) rule, here it is:

    Deny Rule:

    Priority: 90

    From contains:

    To contains:

    Subject contains:

    Body contains:

    Attachments: .vbs

    Action: Copy & Deny

    Mark with: xxx

    Probability Increase: 0

Needless to say .vbs attachments are being received with no problem…

Do I need an allow rule as well? Do I need to set the probability increase above zero? Where can I find more documentation?

Can anyone hazard a guess as to any stupid thing I may have done wrong? I have created KSpamCon.nsf in the data directory root, created mailgood.nsf and mailspam.nsf, signed them all, and created a config doc, and a single deny rule, shown above. When I load kspam, I get the following messages:

In spite of the message, I do not see any file called KERROR anywhere.

      Hi,

you must have at min one document in your spammail-db and your goodmail-db (also at min. one rule!). Then everything should work.

OK, I think I am slowly getting there. I think there are several holes in the docs (e.g. load kspam task, minimum one mail each in mailspam.nsf and mailgood.nsf, etc), I will be happy to fix when this is working for me.

I now have no errors in my log on startup,

Spam is not being filtered. I have this rule:

        Deny Rule:

        Priority: 100

        From contains:

        To contains:

        Subject contains: equifax

        Body contains:

        Attachments:

        Action: Copy & Deny

        Mark with:

        Probability Increase: 0

Messages containing 'equifax' in the subject whiff right by kspam into my mailbox. Any suggestions? Should I turn on debugging or is there a simpler way to test?

        Thanks

          Hi.

I don't agree on your vision of 1 mail in mailboxes, but that may be a linux/win issue. I'm running win and the only thing I had to do was make 1 enabled working rule and the system started to work.

I'm however sometime see mail trapped in the filter, but still delivered to end users, and it's seems that if I reconfigure and save config, things works again. My server normally don't restarts more than once pr month due to updates..

Also I have a former userid that are overflowed by spam and I route all his mail direct to spam, this sometimes identifies spam prior to the other users :-)
