• DocLink

By BusE Solutions 2 decades ago

I realise that I have probably made an error during setup/deployment but I cannot get QAF to include the DOCLINK in any notification emails. I have tried my own application as well as the QAFSample. The email is sent but no doclink appears although it has been configured in the notification to do so. I have seen the note about ensuring I have a Default Database View which I have done. I believe that the QAFSample also has one set to "Funding Requests\Taxonomical". But as I have said neither seem to work. I am using a Domino R7.0.2 Server and a Domino R7.0.3 client (server being upgraded when I can schedule some down time).

    Thank-you in advance.

    • dwa7 Template

I have discovered that the lack of a doclink is due to the fact that I am sending the notifications to a notes user (me) that uses the DWA7 mail template. I have tested the same scenario using another mail account that uses the standard mail template and it works like a charm. This makes sense when I noticed in some documentation or a note that DocLinks are only available in MEMO forms which the DWA7 template doesn't use.

Does this mean that any mail users that use the DWA7 template are excluded from using QAF even if when in the office they use the Notes Client for their mail and not a web browser?

      Thanks

That's really strange because they are simply doclinks, no more no less. Unfortunately I have no experience with DWA aka inotes aka whatever it's called these days but I do recall receiving a doclink using it before. Not sure whether it is translated into a http:// rather than notes:// but my guess is that you have a config issue.

Thanks Mark. It has something to do with how the DWA7 template expects to find links by the looks of it. I haven't done a lot of digging but the one thing that stands out is that there is no FORM field in the Document properties of the receipted mail message from QAF. Mail from other notes users naturally has this field and the doc links show up. If I send a mail message from myself to myself with a doclink in it (remember I use the DWA7 template) there is a Form Field and Body field(s). What I think it is is a mix-up in rendering the contents of the Body field between MIME and NON-MIME. I say this because the Body field in the QAF message has "Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII" has a header and there is only one body field but in the mail message to myself there are multiple Body fields with the link having "–=alternative 0001098A4A257511=–" as the header. So I will look for things related to MIME formatting. Some I have already set back (ie. Location document). But there must be something else somewhere. Cheers
