LeaveSummary process: forms,Views,Agents

—————————————————————

The Leave Summary process is not supported by normal daily use of the system by Requestors and Approvers. This is a change from all other processes. An Administrator must create the new Leave/Client History documents (if you want to implement this process–it is optional) via the Annual\CreateLeaveHistories agent (after all Annual Leave Allowance documents have been created for the year) or manually when a new employee is added. These documents are updated via the new Update\Leave Histories scheduled agent. Update\Leave Histories can be scheduled at whatever frequency you desire, although daily is recommended. You can also run the agent whenever you like.

The documents themselves are of limited value, but the LeaveSummary views do provide something of an overview of the current Leave Status that cannot be adequately displayed in a calendar view due to limited screen real estate. Two views have shortcuts on the new Leave Summary Views navigator (there are a few more available via View,GoTo). In the views the icons from the Leave Calendar are used to indicate that leave or holiday is scheduled on a particular date.

Also added are two "audit" views (LocationAudit\CurrentYear and LocationAudit\NextYear) available via the View,GoTo menu pick. These views help check the availability of various document types by location when you are getting ready for another year. You might, for example, be able to identify with one of these views that you have an employee at a location without an Approval Manager specified.
