So, we had a cross-cert system for OpenNTF. It started out pretty basic. A form where you uploaded your SAFE.ID and gave an e-Mail address for notifications.

Then, add an agent to process the requests. It's sort of automated -- it will attempt to cross-certify. It will attempt to retrieve the user info, so the name can be placed in groups.

We foudn problems though, because not every ID suvmitted was a good file, and some were even real IDs. Not smart for submitter. Also gums up the works, as Notes presents a password dialog box, and is stuck until you clear it. Also, we weren't validating that you submitted the information we needed, such as an e-Mail address.

Well, add some API glue to avoid the file issues, some validations, and some configurability, and it starts to look like a real system. People start asking if they can use it.

We're ready. But we need to make it less OpenNTF-specific. If you want to use this kind of automatic cross-certification system, please go to Project Openings, and apply to join the project. Right now, we're primarily looking for people who can give guidance as to what is needed in the system, rather than just assuming that OpenNTF requirements == your requirements.

In this field you can enter the actual news.

You can use the rich text editor for rich text formating. You can also enter HTML to embed objects, e.g. to embed a YouTube video or a screenshot of the project. In this case use '[' and ']' to mark the passthrough HTML as such.

Please note that the first time you use the new UI your description is converted from rich text to MIME. You might want to copy and paste the raw plain text from the old UI in the new UI so that you don't loose information.
